Introducing the Sheba Bowl
Traditional Ethiopian flavors with a contemporary twist
Rosalind’s needed a refresh. Covid forced its doors closed for 10 months. So we pivoted. We focused on takeout, introduced covid safe items that didn’t require shared plates, and updated their website and photography. We invented the Sheba Bowl, named after Ethiopia’s famous Queen Sheba. It’s gluten free, can easily be made vegan, and catered to millennials with its authentic flavors and modern twist. With covid settling, we created a new special, the Emperor - so first time customers and regulars could sample our favorite menu items.
We also focused on partnerships (such as Off the Plate to feed frontline healthcare workers) and press (featured in EaterLA, the Counter, and Adobe Sparks). Educated the customer on the food (vegan and gluten-free options) as well as the culture and traditions (through social media and email marketing).
This project was extra special to me. You can read more at the Counter.
